Real Madrid coming to Malaysia!
KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 (Bernama) -- The rare chance of playing against Spanish giants and one of the world's top clubs, Real Madrid, on Aug 21, is eagerly awaited by the Malaysian national squad, according to coach K. Rajagobal.
He said the high-level match would also be timely as the national squad would be facing the Asian Games in November and Asean Football Federation Cup tournament in December.
"I believe that playing against Jose Mourinho's (new Real Madrid coach) charges will provide an invaluable experience for me and the national players," he told reporters, here, today.
Some of the players met could not contain their excitement when talking about the coming match against Real Madrid with star players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Gonzalo Higuain.
National striker Mohd Safee Sali said playing against Real Madrid was a childhood dream.
"If selected to play against them, I would surely jump at the opportunity," he said.
Midfielder Muslim Ahmad, one of the players from the Harimau Muda A squad who had 100 days of training in Slovakia has high hopes of being chosen to play against the world-famous club.
"I just can't wait to be selected to play against the Real Madrid first team, especially Kaka, who is my idol," he enthused.
On Thursday, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) confirmed the coming of the Spanish giants to Malaysia to play a friendly match against the Malaysian squad at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Aug 21.
